Rockford, Illinois-Guilford's bowling team will go after its second State Championship this weekend.
The Vikings will be one of 24 teams competing at State Friday and Saturday in O'Fallon near St. Louis.
Last weekend the Vikings won the Hononegah Sectional. That was one of five touraments they've won this season.
Guilford won State two years ago and several bowlers currently on the team were on that team. That's why the Vikings have confidence that they can contend for another Championship even though they have only one senior on the roster.
"We have kids that have experience and have been on the State team before, and I feel like it could be our year," says junior bowler Trustin Givens. "But we'll never know until we get down there."
"This team has a lot of tournament experience, and we're ready to give it a ride," says Guilford coach Brad Sommer. "Hopefully we can bring back one of those big trophies for the Rockford area."
