The Rockford area no longer holds the infamous title as the city in Illinois with the highest unemployment rate.
The dishonor now belongs to Decatur. Their unemployment numbers weighed in at 11.8%. Rockford is only at 11.2%. The next city to beat is Danville, whose unemployment rate currently stands at 10.4%.
