Victoria De La Rosa
says ".its the American dream without the threat of deportation.."
De la Rosa is coordinator for Rock Valley
College's refugee and immigrant service,
she says today's news out of Washington is music to illegal immigrant's ears. She
told us ".it would mean better jobs, better education it could be one of
those things where if one person is helped in the community it really helps our
community entirely .."
But when it comes
to
".we are a
nation of immigrants-- legal immigrants
..."
While visiting schools in Rochelle, Congressman
Adam Kinzinger weighed in on the hotly debated topic, he says while today marks
a major step forward, there's still a long way to go before the issues are
settled, mainly border control. He wonders how
He said "..when
it comes to having a pathway to citizenship ensuring that they're not put ahead
of people that have come here and gone through the process legally ."
But he says that
its promising that both parties appear to be working together, telling us ".Americans
voted for a divided government again so now instead of trying to fight all the
time i think its important to say republicans and democrats need to work
together to let this country be successful .."
