By: Robert Burke
Updated: January 30, 2013

Rock County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6:00 p.m. this evening.

Rock County will experience blowing snow due to northwest winds anticipated to reach as high as 30 mph, with heaviest snow amounts occurring between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Total snow accumulations are anticipated to reach anywhere from 3 to 6 inches.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., deputies began responding to vehicle accidents and run- offs due to poor visibility and slippery conditions.  As of 9:20 a.m., deputies had either responded to or were in the process of responding to 4 accidents and 6 run-offs.

Drivers are encouraged to limit travel and drive with extreme caution, as worsening weather conditions will impede travel.
