Illini Lose to Spartans 1/30/13

East Lansing, Michigan-The Fighting Illini put one great half of basketball together. But they couldn't sustain it.  They led Michigan State by ten points at halftime only to wind up losing 80-75.

It's the Illini's sixth straight loss in East Lansing.

The Spartans used a 14-0 run to begin the second half to turn the game around. Keith Appling led the Spartans with 24 points.

The Illini had four players in double figures. Tracy Abrams had 16 points and 6 assists. DJ Richardson had 14 points. Brandon Paul added 13 and Myke Henry 11.

The Illini drop to 15-7 overall and 2-6 in the Big Ten.  The Spartans are 18-4, 7-2.
