New Orleans, LA-Do you own an NFL jersey or other NFL merchandise? It might be counterfeit.

Thursday in New Orleans the NFL announced it has cracked down on those businessess that have been selling counterfeit tickets and merchandise. League officials say more than $13.5 million of counterfeit items were sold this season.

Government officials hleped the NFL shut down 4200 websites that had been selling fake items. Authentic NFL jerseys cost up to $135, so beware if you see ones selling for $40 or less.

NFL officials say counterfeit items such as jerseys can unravel, fade and have mis-spellings on them. So you might think you're getting a deal, but you're getting ripped off.

And if you're buying tickets to the Super Bowl or any other game on-line or from somone on the street, and those tickets turn out to be counterfeit you won't be allowed into the stadium.
