Thomson Prison To Open Soon

Thomson - Plans to open a prison that's been vacant since 2001 are moving forward.
U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D) says that's the word from the Justice Department. The Federal Bureau of Prisons plans to use Thomson Prison as a maximum security site to alleviate overcrowding.
Thomson was built 12 years ago, but it was never used.
Durbin and Rep. Cheri Bustos say they'll work together to make sure the prison will provide an economic boost for the state.
