China Buffet's Kitchen Catches Fire

Rockford- Crews were dispatched to the 3000 block of North Main Street around 1 P.M. Saturday. Upon arrival the fire was in the hood above the stove. Fire investigators tell eyewitness news it was a self-contained kitchen fire. There was no major damage, just smoke damage. The fire affected the restaurant as well as a neighboring plasma center.

For now both businesses are shut down. There's no time frame on when they'll be back up and running.
