New Orleans, LA-Sean Considine is a Super Bowl Champion. The Byron native helped the Baltimore Ravens defeat the 49ers Sunday 34-31.
Considine played on all of the Ravens special teams units. He threw a key block on Jacoby Jones' Super Bowl record 108 yard kickoff return to begin the third quarter.
The Ravens led 28-6 at that point. They hung on after the 49ers made a furious rally. The 49ers actually had a chance to take the lead with under two minutes to play. But they were stopped on fourth down inside the Ravens ten yard line.
Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was named the MVP. He completed 22 of 33 passes for 287 yards, 3 TDs and 0 interceptions.
The game also had a 34 minute delay early in the third quarter due to a power outage at the Super Dome.
