4 Clerks Cited For Selling Tobacco To Minors

Compliance checks of 36 retailers over the past week netted four citations. The sale of tobacco to anyone under 18 is prohibited by state law.
During the compliance checks 32 retailers refused to sell tobacco to minors. The citations could land clerks with a fine of up to $750.00.
Those cited include: Hasan Awni, 37, at the Loves Park BP; Susan Parlow, 33, at Rascal's Bar and Grill; Malek Shaabneh, 18, at Dugout Tobacco Shop; Patricia Thies, 45, at the Wupco Shell in Loves Park.
