Chicago, Illinois-Northwestern University and the Cubs have formed a partnership that will have Wrigley Field hosting several Wildcats sporting events in upcoming years.
One football game per year, plus Northwestern baseball games and women's lacrosse games are just a few of the sporting events that will be played there.
The parternship will generate enthusiasm for Northwestern sports while generating additional revenue for both Northwestern and the Cubs.
In 2010 Wrigley Field hosted a Northwestern-Illinois football game. Both teams had to use the same endzone because the other endzone was deemed unsafe due to a lack of space between the endline and the brick outfield wall. Cubs officials say that will no longer be an issue once renovations take place at Wrigley Field.
