Rock County Victim, Shooter Identified

ROCK COUNTY -- Police say that Christine M. Gestrich, 59, of Plymouth Township was shot to death Wednesday in a barn in the 6700 block of West Stuart Rd. in Plymouth Township. Police found Daniel F. Bellard, 75,also of Plymouth Township in a nearby shed with a self inflicted gunshot wound.
The Rock County Sheriff's Department says the shooting incident was an attempted murder/suicide.
According to Sheriff Robert Spoden, officers were called to the home at around 8:15 a.m. for a report of a shooting. The SWAT team was deployed, and found Gestrich shot to death in a barn.
Bellard was still alive when police found him and he was taken by medical helicopter to the University of Madison hospital.
