Area Snow Emergencies Declared

The City of Rockford Public Works Department has declared a city-wide snow emergency beginning today, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. A snow emergency will also be in effect in Janesville at 6:00 P.M. Beloit's snow emergency was activated at 3:00 P.M.
Machesney Park has declared a snow emergency starting at 4:00 P.M.
In Rockford, the odd/even parking will be in effect until the Public Works Department deems it is no longer necessary. Updates to the Snow Emergency will be provided at appropriate times throughout the remainder of the storm.
Public Works Employees are currently Salting and Plowing Arterial Streets. Decisions about further deployment will made as needed.
The City of Rockford or its contractors are not responsible for plowing alleyways.
The odd/even parking is in effect so that the plows can safely go down the streets. Effective as of 6:00 p.m. today, February 7, 2013, cars should be parked on the odd numbered side of the street.
As of 8:00 a.m. on February 8th, cars are to be parked on the even numbered side of the street.
