State Bowling Preview 2/7/13

Cherry Valley, Illinois-A State Champion will be crowned in girls high school bowling this weekend. The IHSA State Tournament will be held at the Cherry Bowl.
Jefferson and Harlem are two of 24 teams that will be competing. Jefferson senior Taylor Hoppe helped Jefferson to a second place finish and a third place finish her freshman and sophomore years. she knows what to expect, and she has tried to share that experience with her teammates.
"I just told them to keep their heads up. If you have a bad shot don't worry about it," says Hoppe. "There might be some pressure, but it's one of the best feelings you could ever have bowling here."
Two local individuals will also be competing at State. Freeport freshman Brigitte Jacobs and Belvidere North Sophomore Haley Solberg.
The tournament will begin Friday morning. The doors will open to the public at 8:45 a.m. Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:15 a.m. The first round will begin at 9:45 a.m.
After the first day the field will be cut down to ten teams for Saturday. Action that day will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The cost of admission is $10 per day for spectators.
