State Bowling Day 1 2/8/13

Cherry Valley, Illinois-The Stateline has had eight teams win girls State Bowling Championships in the last 16 years. Another one could be crowned on Saturday.
The Jefferson J-Hawks are tied for first place through the first day and the first six games of the State Tournament at the Cherry Bowl. The J-Hawks and Lockport both finished the day with a 205.4 average.
Jefferson senior Emily Malone was the top individual bowler of the day with a 229 average. Another Jefferson senior Taylor Hoppe was the third individual bowler with a 226.6 average.
Harlem's team finished day one in seventh place. Johanna Craig of the Huskies averaged 213 to put her in 12th place individually. Bree Zimerman averaged a 196.5.
Belvidere North senior Haley Solberg averaged 200.3 Friday to sit in 39th place overall. Freeport freshman Brigitte Jacobs was right behind her in 40th place with a 200.0 average.
