This storm could be one for the history books. The gusty winds and heavy snow are causing power outages, car accidents and even gas shortages. Some 800 national guard soldiers have been deployed to New york, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
In Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick banned all traffic on the streets at beginning at 4 p.m. It's the first traffic ban in the state since the 1978 blizzard.
Boston could get as much as three feet of snow which would break the city's snowfall record of 27.6 inches.
Two weather systems are to blame for the super snow storm. One system moved out of the Midwest and one out of the South, converging in the Northeast. The worst of the storm for many areas will happen very early Saturday morning. Further up north the storm could continue through Sunday.
