Rockford Armed Robber Sentenced

Rockford - A local man is found guilty of armed robbery.
In 2011, 32 year-old Vernon Smith followed a man off a city bus pulled out his gun and threatened to shoot him if he didn't give up his money.
Police caught up with Smith after a short foot chase and recovered the victim's $400 in cash. Smith's sentencing is scheduled for next month.
He faces up to 45 years in prison.
