The Crundwell scandal investigators say is a representative of a growing trend, embezzling.
The Illinois State Police has already opened seven fraud cases in the first month of 2013 in our part of the state. In 2012, police investigated 46 cases, that's five more than the year before.
In most cases the money is never recovered.
