Champaign, Illinois-The Fighting Illini are surging back up in the Big Ten standings. They won their third straight game Wednesday beating Purdue 79-59.
It snapped an eight game Illini losing streak to the Boilermakers.
DJ Richardson scored 18 points. Tracy Abrams added 13 and Tyler Griffey had 12.
The Illini are now 18-8, 5-7 in the Big Ten.
