Blackhawks Call Up Karlsson 2/15/13

Rockford, Illinois-The Chicago Blackhawks have
recalled goaltender Henrik Karlsson (HEHN-rihk KARL-suhn) from the Rockford
IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Karlsson, 29, has appeared in
four games with the IceHogs this season, posting a 2-2-0 record with a 2.23
goals-against average and a .919 save percentage. The Stockholm, Sweden, native
was acquired from Calgary on Jan. 21 and made his Rockford debut on Feb. 1 at
San Antonio. Karlsson earned his first win as an IceHog on Feb. 5 at
Texas.
The 6-6, 209-pound goaltender
appeared in 26 NHL games with the Flames from 2010 to 2012, earning a 5-9-8
record with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in those
contests. Prior to making his North American debut with Calgary, Karlsson spent
parts of two seasons in the Swedish Elite League from 2008 to
2010.
