Chicago - A former congressman faces federal charges of misusing campaign money.

Jesse Jackson Jr. was formally charged today.  It comes as Jackson and his lawyers have been working on a plea deal with prosecutors.  Jackson Jr. admitted last week to using the money to buy jewelry, airplane tickets, and office decorations.

He could get up to five years in prison.  His wife, Sandi Jackson, also pled guilty today to tax fraud.
