Springfield - With a pension crisis quickly creeping closer to $100 billion in debt, one local lawmaker says it's time to fix it.
Rep. John Cabello (R-68th) says the crisis is not the priority in Springfield. He says the general assembly is more focused on social issues instead of economic ones. With a crisis costing the state $17 million a day, Cabello says enough's enough.
"I say lock us in a room, no bathroom breaks, no food, no water until we get these problems solved" says Cabello.
The general assembly may bring up pension reform again during the spring session.
