Chicago, Illinois-The Blackhawks have tied the NHL record for consecutive games with a point to start a season. In all 16 games they've tallied at least one point. That ties the record held by the 2006-07 Anaheim Ducks.

Tuesday night they went to another shootout before edging the Vancouver Canucks 4-3. Patrick Kane and Andrew Shaw scored in the shootout making a winner of Ray Emery. He's now 6-0 this season. The Blackhawks are 13-0-3.

Marian Hossa scored his seventh and eighth goals of the season in the second period. Patrick Sharp scored his fourth goal also in the second. That's when the Blackhawks jumped out to a 3-1 lead. But they needed overtime and the shootout when the Canucks tallied twice in the third period.

The Blackhawks will go for the NHL record of 17 straight games with a point Friday night when they host Anti Niemi and the San Jose Sharks.
