Police Investigation Leads To Drug Dealer Arrest

Police chased down a drug dealer they'd been investigating for months.
On Tuesday, officers from the city's Narcotics Unit took suspect Scottie Valentine Jr., 25, into custody after a foot chase in the 1400 block of Stoney Creek Way.
Valentine's brother, Marktavis D. Valentine, was also taken into custody on scene. Police recovered 540 grams of cocaine at Valentine's residence as well as two stolen handguns. One of the guns was reported stolen out of Rockford and the other was reported stolen from Tennessee.
The two brothers were charged with Possession with Intent to deliver 400-900 grams of cocaine, Unlawful Use of Weapon by felon, Resisting a Peace Officer, Possession of stolen property. City warrant for 3 counts of Delivery of cocaine.
