Attorney General Lisa Madigan's request for a rehearing to allow the concealed carry of guns in public has been rejected by a federal appeals court.
U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals made a decision in December that gave Illinois 180 days to put together a law that would allow concealed weapons in Illinois. Madigan made the rehearing request following this decision.
Madigan's office has not commented on her next move. She could choose to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court or decide to let the ruling stand.
