Belvidere - An accident victim in yesterday's semi-truck crash has taken a turn for the better.
Police say the condition of the 41 year-old passenger in the van hit has been upgraded from critical to serious condition. The 67 year-old driver of the van, however, is fighting for her life at OSF Saint Anthony.
Police say the drivers were headed south on Pearl Street when their van was hit by a semi at the intersection of Highway 20. The truck driver wasn't hurt, but was cited for driving through a red light.
Police haven't yet released the names of the victims.
