Amber Mazoch, 21, of Milwaukee pled guilty to Leaving the Scene of an Accident involving Death and Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Drugs.
On September 11, 2011, around 2:30 p.m., Mazoch was driving westbound on Business 20 near Poplar Grove Road in Belvidere, when she pulled into the oncoming lane of traffic to pass a semi-truck, in a no-passing zone.
Mazoch's vehicle struck a motorcycle which was driven by Anthony Kush of Genoa, who died as a result of the injuries suffered from the crash. Following the crash, Mazoch drove out of the area and headed northbound on Poplar Grove Road.
A Sheriff's Deputy stopped her car after hearing 911 dispatch calls from citizen reports of the crash. Lab results later revealed Mazoch's blood and urine contained cocaine, cannabis, and oxycodone.
Mazoch is scheduled to be sentenced on April 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
