On Monday Governor Quinn vetoed a piece of legislation from 2011 that would have added 5 casinos and more slot machines in Illinois.
The bill didn't land on Quinn's desk until the end of session in January. Quinn originally opposed the bill because he felt that it didn't contain enough ethical protections.
The legislation was estimated to bring in $1.6 billion which could have been used to pay some of the state's overdue bills.
