Controversial Winnebago Landfill Expansion Proposal To Move Forward

The proposed expansion of the Winnebago Landfill moves forward.
The State Pollution Control Board upheld Winnebago County's decision to allow the move. Rock River Environmental Services says they'll start moving forward with their plan.
Martin Maggio, who operates a business near the landfill and is fighting the expansion, says he'll appeal the board's decision. Many residents near the expansion site say it'll lower their property values, as well as pose a health risk.
