NJCAA National Tournaments 3/14/13

Rockford, Illinois-The glass is half full for Rock Valley College basketball fans. The women's team won Thursday at the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, but the men's team lost.
The women defeated Ocean County, New Jersey 84-64 in Rochester, Minnesota. Shantier Miller led RVC with 18 points. Revonia Howard and TeRicka Linzy added 14 each. The Lady Eagles made 10 of 19 three point attempts.
Their record is now 30-2. They're the number one seed in the tournament. Rock Valley will play in the semifinals Friday at 6 p.m. against Anoka-Ramsey Community College of Minnesota.
The RVC men lost at the men's National Tournament in Lake Sheldrake, New York 74-66 to Mass Bay Community College.
Mass Bay shot 54% from the field. RVC committed 18 turnovers. Blake McElroy led the Golden Eagles with 18 points.
RVC is now 18-15. The Golden Eagles will play in the losers brackett Friday at 11 a.m. against Caldwell Tech of North Carolina.
