Rockford - The Forest City's "misery" is now fashionable.
The Rockford Area Conventions and Visitors Bureau is selling t-shirts touting its new tourism campaign, which pokes fun of the recent Forbes Magazine ranking.
The shirt reads "Misery Loves Company."
The RACVB handed a few samples out at Mayor Larry Morrissey's State of the City speech, but they got so many phone calls asking where residents can buy them. They say tourism means more money and that benefits everyone. "The more people who come and spend their money here" says Bridget French, RACVB's Marketing Manager, "the more money it brings to our economy, which ultimately benefits us all."
The shirts are $12 and you can pick them up at the RACVB and at the information center at the Clock Tower.
