Weekend Roadside Checkpoint Nets 3 DUI Arrests

Illinois State Police set up a sobriety checkpoint on the southbound lane of Route 2 at the intersection of Illinois 75. 

Officers stopped 165 vehicles between 10:00 P.M. and 3:00 A.M. Saturday night.

The following citations were issued:

-3 DUI

-3 arrests for consumption of alcohol by a minor

-1 arrest for possession of alcohol by a minor

-6 arrests for possession of marijuana

-2 arrests for possession of drug paraphernalia

-1 charged with bringing contraband into penal institution

-1 attempted obstruction of justice

-4 insurance violations

-9 drivers license violations

-11 seatbelt violations

-2 wanted on warrant

-7 warnings for equipment issued
