Rockford, Illinois-The East High School baseball field was covered with a thick blanked of snow Monday afternoon. The high school baseball season as well as the softball and soccer seasons were supposed to start last week.
But so far almost every game has been postponed in the Stateline, and chances are every game this week will be wiped out also.
The forecast calls for temperatures below 40 degrees until Friday. And even when it warms up melting snow will keep playing fields wet.
All of these postponements will be next to impossible to make up. Meanwhile teams are forced to practice indoors in gymnasiums and hallways.
