Lawmakers Propose Automatic Admission for State's Top Students

They could get automatic admission to any state school as long as it's in Illinois.
Students have to get at least a 28 on the ACT and have a minimum 3.5 GPA. They'd also have to go on to study math, science or technology. Supporters say more students would stay in-state instead of going to out-of-state schools with the plan.
Critics say it's unfair to let all kids in who meet the requirements since some test better than others. They say college admissions considers more than just GPA's.

I am real glad to see that studednts can be recognized for their efforts. Most Illinois high schools prepare students properly that have a career goal in mind. I can speak from my experiences with three careers, six college degrees, two master's degrees, and looking at a doctorate degree from Harvard University/MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Jerome
