Rockford - One of the men involved in the murder of a local man back in 2011 learns his fate.
Lamont Cole, 28, will spend the rest of his life in prison after receiving a 165 year sentence. Cole got into an argument while attending a party in the 2000 block of Sherman Avenue. He then opened fire on the crowd.
His bullet did not kill 25 year-old Charles Spivey, but Cole was still convicted in his death.
The man police believe did kill Spivey is 28 year-old Antwan Maxey. Yesterday, he was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for running away from police. Murder charges against him were dropped after prosecutors violated his right to a speedy trial.
